
Naag or snakes hold a high status in the Hindu mythology, mainly due to its connection with Lord Shiva. It is the fifth day of bright half of Lunar month of Shravan (July-August) and usually falls two days after the Hariyali Teej.

Nag Panchami or Naag Panchami is a traditional worship of snakes or serpents and this year it will be celebrated on date J(Thursday). Nag Panchami is one of the several festivals celebrated in the holy month of Shravan according to the Hindu calendar.
